P8N Creations European Mounts

Welcome to our European Mount Page. Here we will descibe what we offer and the process of creating a European mount. Due to the deterioration of flesh and the fragility of a finished mount, Euro mounts are required to be dropped off and picked up. P8N Creations is located in White City, Oregon and is also a residence, so please call before delivering any animal heads. Note: If your European mount has antlers and they are in velvet, the velvet will fall off during the process and will leave the antlers the same color of the skull. If you wish to have artificial velvet put back on your antlers, you will need to contact a taxidermy shop. At P8N Creations we deliver a rather speedy European Mount Process. Instead of using beatles, which could take months to remove the flesh from the skull, we boil the head and remove the flesh manually. Read the steps below for how we do Euro mounts.

Step 1: The hide is removed from the animal head.

Step 2: The bulk of the flesh under the hide is removed using knives and other tools.

Step 3: The head is boiled, loosening the remainder of the flesh. Note: If applicable, this is when the velvet on the antlers falls off.

Step 4: After the head cools, the tedious process of removing every last bit of the flesh begins.

Step 5: We layer on a bleaching material that will remain on the skull for at least a day to whiten the bone.

Step 6: Finally, we clean and dry the finished mount.

After your mount is done, you will get a call to come pick it up. Payment will be due at that time and can be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to Randy Peyton.
